Groups and family Cycling Essentials
Group sessions are suitable for complete beginners, or those looking to learn how to cycle on road. You can attend on your own, or invite family or friends along too. Gain confidence and learn skills to cycle as a family with a free family cycling session. In the session a qualified instructor will teach you how to cycle with children, using quiet routes and parks. These sessions offer the opportunity to build on, or prepare for, Bikeability skills taught in schools.
In August 2014, Clara from Edmonton took part in a group cycle training session. Smiling broadly she said: "This is a great scheme. I've found learning to ride a bike helps you leave your troubles behind, a great way to get out and feel good. I'm very grateful for this opportunity! Others should give it a go". Why not try it out for yourself?
Basic cycle skills are suitable for complete beginners, so those who are not confident balancing, turning or signaling.
Urban cycle skills are for those who can turn and signal confidently, but need some experience riding on road. All urban cycle skill participants will have to demonstrate basic cycle skills before being taken out onto quiet streets.
Bicycles for adults can be provided upon request. Group sessions are held once each month in Enfield Town and Edmonton.
The sessions are free to anyone who lives, works or studies in Enfield. Visit the Cycle Confident website for more information and to book.
