This investment from Transport for London provides a once in a lifetime opportunity to enhance some of our public spaces. Alongside the cycle routes, there is an opportunity to use the investment to bring about improvements that everyone will benefit from, however they choose to travel.
A105 Major Project
Co-design workshops were held for this project on 25th May 2016. Residents and local business owners were invited to join the event and work with designers and Council Officers to shape the design of some of the key spaces on this route. Designs were created for the 'Triangle' in Palmers Green and a re-designed space at Compton Road in Winchmore Hill.
As a result of these workshops, we have amended the design for these areas. Below are some plans, images and photographs to help illustrate how these public spaces will look. Please note that we are still finalising the specific details of these designs but the images will provide a good insight into what to expect.
Palmers Green Triangle
How the Triangle looks now.
With investment from Cycle Enfield we can enhance the Triangle as a community space. Putting the green back into Palmers Green. There are expensive grounds work required which means that these improvements are not possible without the external investment from TfL.
The layout below shows a feature tree with surround seating, rain gardens forming an edge to the space, a mixture of seating including stepped, cube and benches with backs and arms. Space is also included to illustrate some of the history of the area and a new crossing is also created to provide pedestrian access from all 3 sides of the triangle.
