Car free event for schools this September

10 August 2017

The TfL STARS accreditation scheme has been running for 10 years –  as part of the celebrations to mark this occasion, TfL are inviting schools to take part in the first ever PAN London event:  STARS Car-free Day on Friday 22 September. On this day TfL are hoping to see as many children, teachers and parents in London to travel to school by foot, bike or scooter. There will be a photo competition for everyone to share pictures from their healthy routes to school, with a prize for the winning classes.

To gain the maximum impact, the day is taking place on 22 September to coincide with World Car-free day, an international initiative to encourage people to get out of their cars. See www.mobilityweek.eu  for more information.

Thank you to our wonderful Enfield schools that have already signed up to take part in the event in Enfield, these include:

  • Cuckoo Hall Academy
  • Eastfield Primary School
  • Keble Preparatory School
  • Chesterfield Primary School
  • Keys Meadow School
  • The Raglan Junior School
  • Raglan Infant School

It’s not too late to sign up, if you are a teacher or parent then please get in touch with school.travelplans@enfield.gov.uk to find out how your school can take part in this special event!
