Palmers Green update

14 July 2017

If you live or work in Palmers Green you are probably already aware that work on the upcoming section of the cycle route in the area will start next week. Signs have been posted alerting residents of the work, letters distributed and a lot of work behind the scenes has been taking place visiting businesses to explain the work, discuss deliveries and take on board any specific issues individuals may have.

During the work there will be diversions to the bus routes. Information about these changes has been supplied by Transport for London and is below.

Route 121 towards Turnpike Lane

From Canon Hill at the junction with Aldermans Hill: Powys Lane, Wilmer Way, A406 Bowes Road, Green Lanes and back on usual route

Route 121 towards Enfield Island Village

From Green Lanes at the junction with the A406 Bowes Road: A406 Bowes Road, Wilmer Way, Powys Lane, Canon Hill and back on usual route

Route W6 towards Edmonton Green (single deck diversion only)

From Aldermans Hill at the junction with Grovelands Road: Grovelands Road, ahead to cross Fox Lane into Burford Gardens, onto Bourne Hill, Hedge Lane and back on usual route

Route W6 towards Southgate

From Hedge Lane at the junction with Green Lanes: Bourne Hill, Caversham Avenue, ahead to cross Fox Lane into Old Park Road, right on to Aldermans Hill and back on usual route

If it is necessary to close any bus stops, TfL have indicated that replacement stops will be put in place in the closest safe position to the previous stop.

For people using their own private transport clearly signed diversions will be in place with information placed on sign posts in the area. We ask that people use the official diversions routes wherever possible.

For those of you who wish to drive to your local shops we have introduced 20 free spaces for 45 minutes at Lodge Drive Car Park. There are also 8 spaces for blue badge holders and a further 111 pay and display places but remember that all spaces are free after 6.30pm, on Sundays and on Public and Bank Holidays.

We thank residents and businesses for their patience during the work and encourage that you continue to use your local shops and amenities during the construction period.
