Doug Davey- Kelvin Hughes LTD's Story

Doug Davey- Kelvin Hughes LTD

“ I'm inspired to cycle because my wife is ridiculously fit and I like to be able to keep up with her. ”

I cycle from Billericay, Essex to Mollison Avenue, Enfield, 30 miles each way.

I’m inspired to cycle because my wife is ridiculously fit and I like to be able to keep up with her. I cant! She doesn’t cycle with me anymore because im too slow but it’s an ambition of mine!

I started with the company a year ago. I cycle only once or twice a week with Paul Davenport; if it weren’t for him I would probably not do it, its 30 miles each way!

“ It's important to remember that the Netherlands were not always geared up for cycling. ”

We can do the journey to work in about 90 minutes, in the car it would take about an hour but then there’s traffic!

My former company was closer to my home, so I used to cycle to work everyday, it was only five miles each way though. When we’re shifting gears we can do 30 miles in just under 90 mins. I do not see the cycling journey as taking a big chunk of my time. I still go to the gym at the weekend but the difference is that with cycling I now get the exercise in the week too.
