Construction

Keeping you up-to-date

Due to restrictions put in place by the UK Government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus some Cycle Enfield works are paused. Please see updates for individual projects under the dropdowns below. We will provide updates on this page as they become available.

A1010 North Scheme

Project delivery

Works along the A1010 North Hertford Road were paused in March due to the COVID-19 restrictions. All roads were reopened, except Green Street which was made no entry from Hertford Road.

Enfield Council will be restarting the works week beginning 11th May 2020.

Brick Lane will be closed to traffic at its junction with Hertford Road. The closure will be in place from Monday 11th May 2020, for approx. 3 weeks. The diversion route will be via Mapleton Road and Tyberry Road.

The no entry at Green Street will remain in operation until completion of the works.

Mandeville and Holly Road will be closed to traffic at their junctions with Hertford Road. The closure will be in place from Monday 11th May 2020, for approx. 4 weeks. The diversion route will be via Mandeville Road and Putney Road and Oakhurst Road and Holmwood Road.

Additional parking restrictions will apply in the immediate area.

Council officers have been in discussion with our contractors to ensure that, based on the Government’s guidelines for social distancing, procedures will be put in place to reduce, as far as reasonably practicable, the risk of infection and transmission from COVID-19  through risk mitigation measures.

A1010 South Scheme

Project delivery

Owing to the Coronavirus situation and in order to comply with Government guidelines, works on the A1010 South have been paused. This has meant that we have been unable to complete the outstanding works at Plevna Road and there is also a delay with the installation of the light segregation along the entire route, which was scheduled for April 2020.

Once more information is known about a future construction schedule we will update this area of the website.

Haselbury Neighbourhood

Delivery in stages...

Works are planned to recommence the week of Monday 1st June 2020 along Haselbury Road at The Latymer School and Hazelbury School to upgrade pedestrian crossing facilities. The duration of these works is anticipated to be 3 weeks.

Every effort will be made to observe social distancing norms. Our teams will not be able to engage with the public quite as freely as they once did but a telephone number will be displayed on the works cordon that can be contacted with any queries relating to site operations.

These works consist of a series of smaller scale measures that together should help encourage more people to walk and cycle throughout the Haselbury Neighbourhood area.

The Council report which sets out these proposals and others that will be delivered in the first part of 2020 is here.

To see more detail of the what will be constructed at each site you can review the design drawings here.
