Due to the current UK Government restrictions aimed at reducing the spread of Coronavirus, cycle maintenance courses, Dr Bike, events and group rides have been postponed or cancelled until further notice. Cycle Skills training has recommenced. Sign up to the Cycle Enfield newsletter for updates on activities and see more information here. Our team is contactable at cycle@enfield.gov.uk or via Facebook or Twitter.
Take care of yourselves during this challenging time.
As well as creating new cycle routes, we’re also exploring ways in which we can ensure our community has access to bikes.
Second-hand Bike Markets
We host a number of second-hand bike markets throughout the year. Bike Markets are a way to trade in old or unwanted bicycles and buy a safe, fully refurbished bike in exchange. This event is run in partnership with Peddle My Wheels and is funded by Transport for London.
Our most recent bike market was held on Sunday 28th April 2019 at Ponders End Park. To read about it, see here.
Dates for future events will be included in our newsletter, sign-up via the link in the footer.

Please contact us if your favourite Enfield bike shop is missing from this list. If you’re looking for a second hand bike, do make every effort to make sure it’s not a stolen bike. The London Cycling Campaign has great advice about buying a bike, including types of bikes, child seats for carrying small children on your bike and trailers.
Check whether your employer runs the Cycle to Work scheme, which spreads the purchase cost of a bike over several months, with discounts via tax exemptions. It is known as a ‘salary sacrifice’ scheme and encourages employees to cycle to work, whilst at the same time helping employers reap the benefits of a healthier workforce.
Remember that bicycles with electric assist are available, which make longer journeys or hills much easier. You don’t have to be a pro-athlete to ride a bike!
If you don’t want to purchase a bike, try the new bike share scheme! More information on the Bike Share page.
